Huntsville District Memorial Hospital is a 48 bed hospital serving 20,000 local residents and 85,000 seasonal residents.  Our tourist population is much larger in the summer when people take advantage of our lakes and rivers or visit Algonquin Park.

Practice Opportunity Includes

-week long block of work from Monday 0800- Monday 0800

-pick your availability for any week

-choose 1 week or several

-average of 18-22 patients a day

-shared coverage of all hospital inpatients with a second hospitalist (excluding ICU which is covered by Internists and Surgeons  )

-we  pair you with a local physician who is familiar with our EMR and can provide support

-local consults can be provided by General Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, GP anaethesia, GP OB and palliative care

-psychiatry support is available in the LHIN mainly from Orillia and orthopedics is available in Barrie, Orillia and Collingwood

-evening call may require coverage of OR assisting

-we have on site laboratory services, CT, Ultrasound, ECHO, xray, mammo, physio, OT, SLP, dialysis, chemotherapy

-clinic opportunities may also be available

-we will help with housing options- may include house sitting, staying at a local MDs house or reduced hotel rates

Remuneration:

-stipend around $3618 per week or $516 a day

accomodation stipend $125 / night with a maximum of $1000
