Locum General Surgery Opportunity in Elliot Lake
Locum General Surgeon - Elliot Lake, Ontario
St. Joseph's General Hospital - Elliot Lake, Ontario

Locum Opportunity
- Flexible General Surgery locum opportunities available throughout the year, based on coverage needs and physician availability
- Coverage may include up to 5 operating room (OR) days or 5 clinic days per week
- On-call coverage as required during the locum period
- Collaborative surgical and interdisciplinary team
- Opportunity to provide a broad scope of general surgical care within a community hospital setting
Practice Environment
- 55-bed community hospital with a 6-bed Level 2 ICU
- 24/7 laboratory and diagnostic imaging services, including CT, X-ray and ultrasound
- Support from anesthesia, nursing and allied health professionals
- Visiting specialty services and established referral pathways
- MEDITECH Expanse EMR
Compensation & Locum Supports
- 100% OHIP Fee-for-Service billings
- HOCC (Hospital On-Call Coverage) stipend
- Option to provide surgical assistant call for additional income
- Locum scheduling and available supports discussed with interested physicians
Qualifications
- FRCSC certification in General Surgery
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Current CMPA coverage or ability to obtain coverage prior to commencing practice
- Eligible for hospital privileges at St. Joseph’s General Hospital
- Additional training in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or ERCP is considered an asset
