Hospitalists
Guaranteed Stipend of $1,800 Per Day
The Department of Family Medicine at Brockville General Hospital is seeking full-time, part-time and locum Hospitalists.
Details
* Overseeing an estimated 20 to 22 patients per shift
* Working as part of a three-physician hospitalist team
* Supported by an internal medicine admissionist during daytime hours including consults (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
* Working along with a fourth hospitalist who oversees rehabilitation patients
* Support from a physician’s assistant shared among the three physician team
* Participating in a five-day or seven-day rotation per month for full-time positions or half team coverage for part-time positions
* Committing to an estimated two to three calls for every seven days of coverage
* Attending multidisciplinary meetings
* Teaching medical learners and residents
Compensation
Remuneration includes a stipend of $1,800 per day with additional Hospital On Call Coverage (HOCC) and fee for service.
Practice Environment
Brockville General Hospital is a 172-bed hospital in the city of Brockville, which is 45-minutes from Kingston and an hour from Ottawa. Brockville General is the largest hospital in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville County, serving a catchment area of 250,000. Located in the beautiful Thousand Islands Region, we are the perfect place to practice and play as evidenced in Imagine Brockville Life. The practice environment is comprised of 52 acute medicine beds and 54 rehabilitation beds with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapy, rehabilitation therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, social work, dieticians, discharge planning, and wound care.
Specialized in-house services at Brockville General include GIM, general surgery, urology, radiology, psychiatry, orthopedics, and palliative as well as a 10-bed, level 3 ICU and certified stroke center. Brockville General is also equipped with ultrasound, 24/7 lab including tele-radiology, XR, CT and an MRI. Cerner EMR which was recently launched as part of the Lumeo regional initiative. Both Ottawa and Kingston serve as tertiary referral centers.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent, be board-certified in either Family Medicine (CCFP) or Internal Medicine (FRCPC) and have licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Proficiency in English is required.
