LOCUM PEDIATRICIAN - PAID ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL COSTS
Brockville General Hospital through its partnership with the Department of Pediatrics, Queen's University in Kingston, is currently seeking locum support for pediatrics at Brockville General in preparation for the 2025 schedule.
Pediatrician: Practice Profile / Job Duties
* Community-based consultative practice; provision of consultative support to the Emergency Department and Women and Children’s Health Team
* MRP for pediatric in-patients
* Newborn care
* On Call coverage is 08:00 – 08:00 hours daily
* English language
* Women and Children’s Health Care Team is currently comprised of Pediatricians (2); a General Practitioner who practices pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology; Obstetrician/Gynecologists (3), Family Physicians, Midwives, Nurses, and Social Workers.
* 300 deliveries annually.
* Participation in the on-call rotation: 1 in 3.
Hospital Resources
* 3 pediatric beds
* 4 delivery suites
* 24/7 Emergency averaging 30,000 visits annual (average 150 pediatric consults annually)
* Extensive Electronic Health Records (Cerner) including physician order entry and remote systems access
* CT/ PACs, fully digital Diagnostic Imaging
* Tertiary care centers are one hour away – Kingston and Ottawa
Remuneration
* 1,500 per day plus Hospital On Call Coverage (HOCC) at a rate of $302 for weekdays and $602 for weekends and statutory holidays or >$10,000 per week
* Paid accommodation and travel
Qualifications
* Independent Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
* Royal College Certification RCPSC (Pediatrics).
