Locum Opportunity – Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Timmins and District Hospital is urgently seeking one locum OB/GYN to provide on-call coverage during the period noted above. A 1X incentive is being offered in recognition of the urgent nature of this gap.

The Timmins and District Hospital is a 215-bed district referral and teaching hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000 in Northeastern Ontario. The hospital provides a full range of services including Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health.

The department features a Level II nursery with approximately 600 deliveries annually, on-call Pediatric support, and excellent access to diagnostics.

Remuneration

• $2,598.03 per day (comprised of NSLP on-call sessional $1,773.75/day, daily honorarium $386.44/day, and TADH daily stipend $437.85/day).
• 1X urgent coverage incentive: $1,000/day.
• All travel expenses (airfare/mileage, car rental, accommodations, and a travel stipend) will be covered up to a maximum, as per program guidelines.

Position Requirements

Candidates must:

• Hold Royal College certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Be licensed to practice as an OB/GYN in Ontario.
• Maintain CMPA coverage.
• Hold an independent CPSO practice license and OHIP billing number.
• Demonstrate excellent clinical skills, commitment to patient safety, and high standards of care.
