Job Description
Windsor Regional Hospital's Department of Medicine is actively seeking a passionate and skilled Infectious Disease (ID) Specialist to join our growing team. You'll work alongside two dedicated ID consultants and a supportive group of allied health professionals in a busy academic community setting. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population, from individuals with complex vascular diseases to allogeneic bone marrow transplant recipients.
This role offers the best of both worlds: the fast-paced, hands-on experience of a community hospital combined with the academic prestige of the Schulich School of Medicine, Western University. As part of our affiliation with the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, the successful candidate will be required to teach medical students and Internal Medicine Residents on the ID Consult Service and lectures.
Why Choose Infectious Disease at WRH?
- Diverse Clinical Practice: You'll manage a bustling inpatient consultative service, an on-site clinic with dedicated office space, and a well-established HIV outpatient care program.
- Pioneering Research: You’ll have access to unique and impactful research opportunities.
- Academic Affiliation: Take advantage of our affiliation with the Schulich School of Medicine. You'll be required to apply for an academic appointment, allowing you to blend clinical practice with teaching and research.
- Collaborative Environment: Become part of a truly team-oriented group committed to providing outstanding, patient-centered care.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering high-quality infectious disease consultative services to a diverse inpatient population.
- Providing patient care within our in-hospital clinic and contribute to our dedicated HIV care program.
- Fulfilling the department's academic mission through an appointment with the Schulich School of Medicine.
- Optional: Participate in our general internal medicine services, if you wish to broaden your scope.
What you bring to Our Team:
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Certification with, or eligibility for, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Infectious Diseases.
- A strong commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- A collaborative spirit and the desire to thrive in a busy, academic community hospital environment.
