WRH's thriving Cancer Program, nestled in the vibrant city of Windsor, Ontario, invites you to explore this exceptional full-time opportunity. Here, you'll find a supportive team, access to present day and cutting-edge technology, and a community that offers an outstanding quality of life.
Why Choose Oncology at WRH?
· Join a Leading Regional Force in Cancer Care: Become part of an established and highly respected Radiation Treatment Program that serves approximately 650,000 across the Erie St. Clair LHIN. Our program manages 1600 new cases annually, embracing a comprehensive approach to adult oncology care and valuing the unique contributions of each team member.
· Collaborate with a Team of Experts: Integrate seamlessly into an experienced and welcoming group of seven Radiation Oncologists. You will work closely with established Medical Oncology and Hematology services, all supported by a dedicated 30-bed In-Patient Oncology Unit with nurse practitioner support. Join an integrated team within the Radiation Treatment Program with highly skilled radiation therapists, dosimetrists and a growing energetic physics team.
· Pioneer with Innovation and Advanced Technology: Immerse yourself in a technologically advanced environment. Our Cancer Centre features three Varian linear accelerators with Rapid Arc (VMAT), a recently commissioned Varian True Beam with 6 DOF couch, a 100 and 220kV orthovoltage unit, a GE Discovery CT-simulator, a GammaMed afterloader, a sophisticated Eclipse Treatment Planning platform with MOSAIQ and a fully integrated CERNER EMR system.
· Drive Clinical Advancement and Research: Be at the forefront of cancer care. We actively participate in impactful clinical trials through our affiliation with NRG (via the University of Western Ontario and the Verspeeten Cancer Program) and strongly support NCIC initiatives. Your passion for contributing to and potentially leading clinical research will be highly valued and encouraged.
· Cultivate Your Academic Growth: Benefit from exceptional academic opportunities through our strong connection with the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. Engage with the full 4-year undergraduate MD Program, our on-site Medical Physics residency, and the Radiation Therapy training program. Opportunities for meaningful adjunct and tenure-track academic advancement are readily available.
· Thrive in a Supportive Partnership Model: Experience a collaborative and equitable work environment through our hiring arrangement, which aligns with other leading Ontario Regional Cancer Programs via the local Radiation Oncology Associates Partnership, as members of the Ontario Association of Radiation Oncologists (OARO) under the Ontario Oncology Association Agreement. Benefits packages are a component of the membership through OARO. Details of remuneration will be discussed at the time of candidate selection and subsequent interview.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
· Provide expert and compassionate radiation oncology care across a spectrum of adult disease sites.
· Provide brachytherapy treatment and help to support and develop the brachytherapy program.
· Play a key role in the evolution and advancement of our SBRT program.
· Actively engage in and contribute to our dynamic clinical trials and research initiatives.
· Foster strong collaborative relationships with our multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physicists, and allied health professionals.
· Contribute to our academic mission through teaching and mentorship opportunities.
· Participate in essential quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of our program.
· Experienced and driven individuals will find opportunities to pursue highly regarded leadership roles and advance their careers within our organization.
What You Bring to Our Team:
· Eligibility for licensure to practice in Ontario and certification (or eligibility) by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Radiation Oncology (or equivalent).
· Immediate Need: Demonstrated expertise in GU Disease Site and Prostate Brachytherapy utilizing both HDR and LDR, complementing our well-established and experienced program.
· Demonstrated expertise/strong interest in the shared practice of Gyn brachytherapy.
· A strong interest and proven experience in SBRT and a track record of providing excellent care across diverse disease sites.
· An unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with empathy and respect.
· Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills that foster a positive team environment.
· A genuine desire to contribute to a dynamic and progressive oncology program dedicated to innovation and excellence.
· Highly Valued: A keen interest, or previous experience, in hospital leadership, demonstrating initiative and strategic thinking.
