The Department of Internal Medicine at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is inviting applications for full time Infectious Disease Specialists to join its team.

Our hospital is a 395 funded bed acute care facility which provides coverage to a regional population base of 250,000 people. Delivering all services daily including acting as the Regional Trauma Centre and Cancer Referral Centre for the Northwestern Ontario region with plans to include Cardiac Surgery by 2028.

The preferred candidate must be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

We are the teaching hospital of choice for learners from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Lakehead University, Confederation College, and other partnering academic institutions. We are an academic health sciences centre, committed to teaching the next generation of health care providers. Patients benefit from interprofessional teams of health care providers and access to leading-edge medical equipment and clinical trials. Our health care providers have the opportunity to take on teaching positions with our academic partners.

We are proud to provide our learners and health care professionals with education through Simulation Based Learning. Our new Simulation Centre allows practitioners to practice and expand their knowledge and skills within a safe and controlled environment. Simulated scenarios help to better prepare our health care providers to respond effectively and appropriately to stressful situations in clinical practice.
