The Department of Surgery at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is currently seeking qualified individuals to provide locum coverage throughout 2023 into the new year. Locum assignments will be supported through the Urgent Locum Tenans Program (reimbursement for accomodations/travel plus daily stipend and honorarium.

Our hospital is a 395 funded bed acute care facility which provides coverage to a regional population base of 250,000 people. Delivering all services daily including acting as the Regional Trauma Centre and Cancer Referral Centre for the Northwestern Ontario region with plans to include Cardiac Surgery by 2026.

The candidate must be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Our locums are supported through the Ministry's, Northern Specialist Locum Program (Respite Tenens). This program offers reimbursement of flights and accommodations as well as a daily stipend and honorarium.
