Our client, a dynamic and growing cardiac care provider in Ontario, is urgently seeking Internal Medicine Specialists with a Cardiology focus to join their state-of-the-art clinic in Guelph, Ontario. Operational since early 2024 and partnered with a well-established cardiology group from Waterloo, the Guelph clinic offers an ideal environment for physicians looking to practice in a modern, well-supported, and efficient setting.
This full-service cardiac clinic features a 3,500 sq ft facility with optimized patient flow and a strong interdisciplinary team. Physicians benefit from minimal administrative responsibilities and opportunities for partnership and leadership roles.
Clinic Highlights:
- Modern 3,500 sq ft clinic with purpose-built cardiac infrastructure
- Capacity for 3 full-time cardiologists per day
- Current team includes 6 cardiologists and 3 internists
- Diagnostic equipment includes: 4 echo machines, 90 Holter's, ABPM, 2 treadmills
- Support team includes 4 stenographers, 3 full-time technologists, MOAs, and admin staff
- All referrals and scheduling handled centrally
- Uses a user-friendly EMR system (software fee: $300/month)
- No on-call required; minimum 3-day/week schedule preferred
Scheduling:
- Flexible scheduling – minimum 3 clinic days per week
- No on-call responsibilities
Remuneration:
- Fee-for-Service (FFS) split: 75/25
Scope of Practice
This outpatient-focused position emphasizes consultative cardiology and preventive care
Patient Care & Consultation: Manage common cardiac concerns:
- Arrhythmias (e.g., atrial fibrillation)
- Heart failure
- Angina & chest pain
- Palpitations, dyspnea
- Maintain a dedicated patient panel for ongoing follow-up and chronic disease management
- Refer stable patients back to primary care when appropriate
Diagnostics: Request and analyze routine cardiology diagnostic tests:
- ECG
- Holter Monitors
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
- Stress Tests
Optional: Obtain accreditation to interpret echocardiograms
Referral & Collaboration: Refer to hospital-based cardiologists for:
- Advanced imaging (CT angiography)
- Interventional procedures (e.g., ablation)
- Collaborate with on-site specialists for complex cases
- May supervise or provide support during in-clinic cardiac diagnostics
Preventive Cardiology :Focus on cardiovascular risk reduction and chronic disease management:
- Hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes
- Lifestyle counseling (nutrition, physical activity)
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree and certification in internal Medicine.
- Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC). & Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam (MCCQE) Part 1 or a complete set of USMLE’s, is favored.
- Physicians with training from a Royal College approved jurisdiction may also be considered.
- Physicians that have successfully completed the RCPSC specialty examination via the RCPSC Practice Eligibility Route and hold the MCCQE1 exam are eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO
- Successful candidates will be eligible to hold a license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
