Job Description
Windsor Regional Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Full-Time Interventional Cardiologist to join our dedicated team at the Ouellette Campus. As a leading Regional Cardiac Care Centre serving a diverse population of over 400,000 in the Erie St. Clair region, WRH is currently in the midst of a transformative $31 million expansion.
This is a unique opportunity to provide essential care in a high-volume, 24/7 STEMI center while our program evolves into a state-of-the-art, multi-table facility. You will play a critical role in maintaining our "closer to home" care mandate, ensuring that residents of Windsor-Essex receive world-class intervention without the need for out-of-region transfers.
Why Choose Interventional Cardiology at WRH?
· A Program in Growth: You will be joining us at a pivotal moment as we relocate and expand our Cath Lab to a new 17,000‑square‑foot suite, including the addition of a second catheterization table to double procedural capacity.
· High-Volume Clinical Exposure: Our program manages approximately 2,700 patients annually, including more than 300 acute STEMI cases, offering an ideal environment for clinicians who thrive in high acuity interventional practice.
· Innovation & Investment: Significant infrastructure upgrades are underway to eliminate downtime and support reliable 24/7 service delivery.
· Collaborative Excellence: Work alongside a collegial, multidisciplinary team of Cardiologists and highly specialized cardiac staff dedicated to optimizing door‑to‑balloon times and patient safety.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
· Performing high-quality diagnostic coronary angiograms and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI).
· Participating in the 24/7 Regional STEMI on-call rotation.
· Provide inpatient care in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and consultation services to the Emergency Department and telemetry units.
· Collaborate closely with the broader cardiology team to optimize patient flow and continuity of care.
· Participate in the supervision and teaching of medical trainees, supporting the hospital’s academic mission.
What You Bring to Our Team:
· Certification: FRCPC in Internal Medicine and Cardiology (or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
· Specialized Training: Completion of a recognized Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology (minimum 12–24 months).
· Clinical Expertise: Proven experience in a high-volume center with proficiency in complex PCI and management of high-acuity cardiac patients.
o Preference will be given to candidates with experience in cardiac device implantation, including pacemakers.
o In the absence of established pacemaker experience, the successful candidate will be required to undergo dedicated training to achieve proficiency in pacemaker implantation before commencing the role.
· Professional Attributes: Strong communication skills, a collaborative team-based approach, and a commitment to patient‑centred care.

Why Windsor-Essex?
The Windsor-Essex area is ecologically rich with extensive parkland along with a southwest location that extends warm weather activities such a golfing, gardening, and water sports. Windsor offers the unique opportunities of a larger metropolitan area and the benefits of a smaller community. Living directly across the border from Detroit, Michigan places you on a cosmopolitan stage where arts, culture, big league sports, and entertainment are just moments away. Best of all, you can enjoy access to all these big-city advantages while living in the relative tranquility (and low costs) of a much smaller, friendlier community.
