Health Sciences North (HSN) is a leading tertiary academic health sciences centre serving Northeastern Ontario in partnership with NOSM University. As part of its established Regional Cardiac Program, HSN is seeking a Cardiologist with fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology to join the team.

This role supports the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality interventional cardiovascular care for patients across Northeastern Ontario. The successful candidate will join an experienced multidisciplinary team providing advanced cardiac services within a well-established regional program committed to maintaining and enhancing timely access to interventional cardiology care.

Clinical Responsibilities include:

·      Inpatient and outpatient consultation and longitudinal follow-up of patients with coronary artery disease and other cardiovascular conditions

·      Equal participation in the cardiology on-call rotation, including management of acute coronary syndromes and other cardiac emergencies

·      Performance of diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), including primary PCI for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)

·      Participation in the regional STEMI program and catheterization laboratory activities

·      Collaboration with cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, vascular medicine, intensive care, emergency medicine, and regional referral partners to provide coordinated cardiovascular care

·      Active involvement in quality improvement initiatives, clinical pathway development, and continued growth of the Regional Cardiac Program

Academic & Program Development:

·      Teaching and academic engagement through NOSM University

·      Eligibility for academic appointment and participation in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education

·      Opportunities for clinical research and innovation through the HSN Research Institute

Qualifications:

·      Board-certified Cardiologist with fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology and advanced experience in complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

·      Eligibility for medical licensure in Ontario

·      Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic coronary angiography and PCI, with experience in intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT), coronary physiology assessment, mechanical circulatory support, and the management of complex coronary interventions
