Brightshores Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170,000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre, offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology).
Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lion’s Head, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton and Wiarton, servicing a range of ambulatory, in-patient and emergency needs.
Service Delivery
Here at Brightshores Health System, we have weekend, week or month long locum opportunities available immediately. Extended locums 3 to 6 months also available.
The Internist hospital duties include Emergency Department consultations, service to the acute inpatient units, and Department of Medicine on-call coverage. Opportunity for subspecialty referrals tailored to your interests.
The Owen Sound Hospital is also a Designated Stroke Centre. The Department of Medicine provides on-call coverage for incoming strokes with support from in-house Neurologists during business hours.
Schedule
12 or 24 hour On-Call Coverage, 0800-1800hrs/1800-0800hrs OR 0800hrs-0800hrs the following day
Option for ICU coverage if interested

With annual ER volumes of over 36,000 visits, 24-hour labs, excellent specialty back-up, and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, PACS capability), our modern facilities are exceptionally well equipped.
Qualifications
Interested candidates must hold applicable FRCPC designation.
Independent license to practice in Ontario.
