Academic Obstetrician/Gynecologist

Position: Locum generalist OBGYN in academic teaching hospital
Dates: September 1st - Nov 30th 2025

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario invites applications for one full-time locum position of a generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologist with appropriate experience from September 1st - Nov 30th 2025 (dates flexible). The candidate will join the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. The department offers care in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the City of Hamilton, LHINs 3 and 4 (Waterloo Wellington, Hamilton Niagara, Haldimand and Brant) covering a region of 30,000 deliveries per year. The position start date will be negotiated and has flexibility over a wide range from July - December 2025 and has the potential to be inclusive of this time period or part there of.
This full-time locum position is for a period of thirteen weeks with potential for 27 weeks. Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. Salary is composed of fee-for-service activities. The candidate will be expected to cover overhead costs during this time. Some teaching and working with residents and medical students is involved.
