Northern Medical Services (NMS) is seeking individuals, or groups of physicians excited by the prospect of the north. Delivering relationship-based, patient-centered, full-scope practice, with an awareness around cultural safety combined with a sensitivity toward Indigenous wellness. This is the core of healthcare in the north; you will be providing high level care in rural and remote settings. NMS sites are well-equipped, staffed with other physicians and support workers, and most utilize remote presence technology.
Daily rate is $1,971/day (that is NET after university admin fees) plus MSB on call rates. Eligible for annual Comprehensive Care stipend of up to $30,000. Also eligible for provincial government retention bonus of $200,000 over 5 years for new-to-rural/remote practice in Saskatchewan.
Call Schedule Description:Full service family physician, itinerant or locum in/out model. Clinics, on-call in ER, day clinics in outpost nursing stations (fly in or drive).
Community Description: The community is located 685 km from Saskatoon. Ile-a-la-Crosse is the second oldest community in Saskatchewan. It has a rich history being connected to the Churchill River, Beaver River and Canoe River systems.

Qualifications:
College of Family Physicians of Canada, American College of Family Physicians or equivalent. College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan full licence, plus ACLS also ATLS, PALS, ALARM, NRP, etc. highly recommended. Must love the rural and remote north.

Independent Itinerant Contracts:Medium to long-term contracts in a single northern location. Plan your life in a steady rotation with a fixed schedule. Usually a 26-week commitment (two-week-in/two-week-out rotation/yr. Half-time: two-week-in/six-week-out rotations.
Locums are as needed, usually two-weeks at a time, but shorter placements are often available.
