Description:

Alberta Health Services (AHS), Calgary Corridor is inviting applications from physicians with an interest in urgent care to join the Department of Rural Medicine, at the Okotoks Urgent Care Centre.

The position has an anticipated start date of May 1, 2026, and will include six shifts per month for a one-year term.  The Okotoks Urgent Care Centre is open 0800-2200, seven days per week.  This position will include day, evening, and weekend shifts.  The successful applicant should have the ability to pick up open ended or traded shifts within the group, as well as shifts needing to be covered on short notice due to unexpected physician absence or illness.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant will:

• Be certified in Family Medicine with the Canadian College of Family Physicians or certified in Emergency Medicine with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians
• Hold active licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
• Have current medical liability insurance coverage
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Demonstrate strong, clear communication skills including written, auditory, and verbal
• Be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • ATLS and PALS certification desired
• Must have experience with fracture reduction and casting
