6–9 Month Family Medicine Locum – Scarborough (Guildwood), Ontario | Starting Mid-December 2026

I’m looking for a family physician to cover my practice during maternity leave for approximately 6–9 months, starting mid-December 2026. Duration and weekly schedule are negotiable.

This is a well-established FHO+ community practice in Guildwood, near the Scarborough Bluffs, with a lovely English-speaking patient population. Many families have been with the practice for decades — I genuinely see babies through to their great-grandparents.

The practice

• Livingston Medical Centre, 123 Guildwood Parkway — large plaza with plenty of free parking and a pharmacy next door with very helpful pharmacists
• Approximately 1,150 rostered patients
• 6–8 clinic half-days per week, plus inbox/results management, with flexibility in how the schedule is arranged
• Work alongside 2 very supportive family physicians, including our FHO lead
• 2–3 experienced secretaries/MOAs working up front at any given time
• OSCAR Pro EMR with Cortico
• Access to my Heidi AI scribe
• We are actively experimenting with AI-enabled workflows, including Strello and Cortico’s AI tools
• Opportunity to join our FHO after the locum if interested

Compensation

• $300 per half-day paid directly by me
• Plus applicable FHO+ hourly payments from the Ministry
• Plus shadow-billing income and non-insured fees
• No overhead
• The $300 half-day stipend plus FHO+ hourly payments should bring compensation to over $500 per half-day before shadow billing and non-insured fees

After-hours coverage

• Approximately one Wednesday evening per month, 5–8 pm
• Approximately 2 weekend after-hours shifts over a 6-month period

Required Qualifications

• CCFP-certified family physician licensed to practise independently in Ontario with the CPSO
• CMPA coverage
• Eligible to bill OHIP
• Comfortable providing comprehensive family medicine across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult and geriatric care
• Comfortable managing routine results, referrals, prescription renewals and other inbox work associated with the practice
• Interested in working in a warm, community-based practice with friendly and supportive physician colleagues, staff and patients
• Experience with OSCAR Pro/Cortico is an asset, but not required.

This would be a great fit for someone looking for a friendly, well-supported community practice with an established and very pleasant patient population. There is also the possibility of a longer-term opportunity to join our FHO afterward if interested.
