Job Description
Maternity Leave Locum Opportunity in Perth, ON - March to July 2026
I am seeking a Family Physician to provide maternity leave coverage for a well-organized FHO practice of ~ 800 patients. The clinic is efficient, collegial, and well supported by administrative staff and excellent nurses. New grads are very welcome and would be very supported by other physicians in the clinic and community!
Requesting coverage of 5 half days per week, with flexible scheduling. Seeking coverage from March 30th through July 10th, but dates can be adjusted/discussed.
Location: Tay River Health Centre; Perth, ON.
Approximately 1 hour drive from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Kanata/Stittsville; easy drive with minimal traffic.
Compensation:
- $550 per half-day
- 100% of 3rd-party, non-OHIP
- Compensation will likely change with implementation of FHO+ at the start of locum period, details TBD and can be discussed in more detail if interested in this opportunity.

Practice Details:
- 15-minute routine appointments, including phone appointments.
- 30-minute appointments for well babies, diabetic visits, mental health, and other complex patients (as deemed by MRP or locum).
- 15-minute same-day urgent appointments (approximately 2-3 per half-day).
- Telus PS Suites EMR with Ocean for referrals.
- Pharmacy, lab (Life Labs), and imaging (CDN) on-site.
Additional opportunities in Perth, that would be available to the locum physician, include:
- Hospitalist coverage for Tay River Health Centre (~ 1 in 8 weeks, ~ 10-15 patients/week) at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital; hospital has Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Orthopaedic Surgery available for consult, as well as Kingston/Ottawa as major referral centres.
- Emergency Medicine, including mentorship program.
- Surgical assist.
