Serving a population base of approximately 650,000 across Windsor/Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia/Lambton within the Erie St. Clair network, our program offers a well-established and comprehensive range of services. This Locum Medical Oncologist position will be for a one-year term beginning mid-August 2026.
Why Choose Oncology at WRH?
· Collaborative Environment: Work closely with a well-established group of 12 Medical Oncologists/Hematologists and 6 Radiation Oncologists.
· Excellent Inpatient Support: Utilize our 22-bed In-Patient Oncology Unit, which features dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) support for inpatient on-call work.
· Academic & Research Growth: Access rewarding opportunities for teaching, involvement in the Schulich School of Medicine curriculum, clinical research, and adjunct or tenure-track academic advancement.
· Flexible Scheduling & On-Call: Enjoy an excellent work-life balance with customizable scheduling and on-call commitments that can be tailored to your personal availability.
· Unbeatable Location: Enjoy the best of both worlds in Windsor-Essex - a region with a warm climate, extensive parklands, and low living costs, all situated directly across the border from Detroit's big-league sports, arts, and entertainment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
· Providing high-quality consultative services and direct patient care within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team framework.
· Contributing to positive relationship-building across all members of the inter-professional healthcare team.
· Participating in clinical research initiatives and the academic development of medical students and residents.
· Focusing clinical practice on specialized disease sites - with a focus on breast, lung, and head and neck malignancies.
What You Bring to Our Team:
· You must hold, or be eligible for, certification in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or accepted equivalent) with a subspecialty in Medical Oncology.
· You must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
· Experience or a strong interest in breast, lung, and head and neck malignancies is preferred, though there is built-in flexibility to accommodate your specific areas of interest and clinical expertise.
· You must hold Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage in good standing.
· You are an excellent communicator, proficient in English, and dedicated to fostering an inclusive team environment.
