There is the opportunity for the development of subspecialty areas of care (e.g. orthogeriatrics). Participation in a weekly Geriatric Medicine outpatient clinic, out of hours cover (on rotation) as well as clinical bedside teaching is expected as part of this role. A sessional commitment to relevant subspeciality interest work for older adults can be supported.
The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered and arranged under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. Candidates will possess certification in either Geriatric Medicine (Internal Medicine) or Care of the Elderly (Family Medicine) with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada or equivalent. Applicants should also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
Applying:
Interested candidates are asked to submit online a letter of intent, at min. 3 references and curriculum vitae outlining their education, qualifications, and experience. We recommend a Canadian Common CV (https://ccv-cvc.ca).
The competition will remain open until the position is filled. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
