Neuromuscular medicine Specialist, Clinician Teacher

The Department of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a qualified full-time academic neuromuscular specialist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher (CT). The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2026, or thereafter.
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated neuromuscular specialists. At a minimum 1-2 years of neuromuscular fellowship are required, with interest in seeing patients in a busy ambulatory EMG and neuromuscular clinic. An interest in myasthenia gravis is welcomed, though the role will involve diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of neuromuscular disease. The successful candidate will also become part of the general neurology group at St. Michael’s Hospital and will be expected to participate in general neurology call and ward duties in a manner proportional to others with a similar job description.
The successful candidate will participate or lead in the educational programs at SMH-UHT and the University of Toronto and may at some point be expected to act as the residency site director for a term of 2-4 years, depending on need.

The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Neurology at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division of Neurology, composed of 24 full time academic neurologists, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and quality improvement.
