Locum Opportunity – Obstetrics and Gynaecology
February 17, 2026 at 7:00am – February 19, 2025 at 7:00am
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Timmins and District Hospital is seeking one locum OB/GYN to provide on-call coverage during the period noted above.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 215-bed district referral and teaching hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000 in Northeastern Ontario. The hospital provides a full range of services including Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health.
The department features a Level II nursery with approximately 600 deliveries annually, on-call Pediatric support, and excellent access to diagnostics.
Remuneration
- $2,430 per day (comprised of NSLP on-call sessional $1,669/day, daily honorarium $363/day, and TADH daily stipend $398/day).
- All travel expenses (airfare/mileage, car rental, accommodations, and a travel stipend) will be covered up to a maximum, as per program guidelines.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- Hold Royal College certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Be licensed to practice as an OB/GYN in Ontario.
- Maintain CMPA coverage.
- Hold an independent CPSO practice license and OHIP billing number.
- Demonstrate excellent clinical skills, commitment to patient safety, and high standards of care.
Note: Appointment is contingent on successful credentialing for medical staff privileges.
