Description
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications for a position within the Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a part of the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).
This full-time (1.0 FTE), position comprises approximately 60% time for clinical service and 40% time for academic pursuits, divided between research, teaching, and administrative duties (negotiable).
The successful candidate will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and be willing to be involved in resident teaching and clinical research facilitation.
Position Responsibilities
● Clinical Excellence: Provide a full spectrum of clinical services including inpatient ward coverage, ambulatory pediatric nephrology clinics, and patient care meetings. The successful applicant will be required to cover a variety of clinics including transplant, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, general nephrology, and CKD. The physician will be required to provide call coverage for a proportional share of nights and weekends, on a rotational basis.
● Education and Mentorship: Teach and mentor learners at all levels in clinical and academic settings.
● Research Contribution: Conduct impactful research in Pediatric Nephrology.
● Collaboration and Engagement: Work closely with other programs, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare professionals to advance Pediatric Nephrology care and the education of Pediatric Nephrology trainees.
Qualifications

● Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatri
● Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
