Full-Time Pediatrician Opportunity

If you’re a General Pediatrician with neonatology experience/fellowship who wants to work as a consultant in both clinic and hospital settings, we are a perfect match—because that’s exactly what we offer! Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are essential. Candidates with training or work experience in Canada or the United States preferred.

A Little About Us

• Located at the southern tip of Ontario – only 3 hours from Toronto and 1 hour to Detroit

• 200 bed community hospital with 24/7 RT, RN, ED, IM, Lab, DI support

• 3 bed pediatrics unit & 5 bed Level II B NICU

• Schulich School of Medicine distributed education site, welcoming 100+ medical learners every year

• Birth rate is ~900 babies per year (32w+ gestation)

• Hospital EMR is Cerner. Clinic EMR is Accuro.

The Schedule

• Call is 1 in 6 (~5 days/month). When on call, your focus will be on the hospital---NICU babies, pediatric patients, newborn assessments, attending high-risk deliveries, and providing ED support.

• Clinic hours (3 days/week) can be scheduled any way you wish. Typical volume will be 5 new consults or 10 follow-up visits per day (a half day, if post-call).

• Administrative day (1/week) allows you to follow up on labs, make phone calls, review future cases etc.

Very generous remuneration is provided through the Regional Consulting Pediatrics Alternative Funding Agreement. Specifics will be provided during the interview phase.

Shared clinic space ensures manageable overhead costs! Everything you need, including referrals, are provided in a turnkey office. You just need to show up and get to work!

Each call shift earns a $547.32 HOCC stipend. Call is typically very light and is shared equally among the team.

34% of all OHIP billings for services provided in hospital and clinic will be paid directly to you.
