The Centre for the Southern Interior (CSI) in Kelowna operates a Community Oncology Clinic in Penticton, BC. We are looking for a General Practitioner in Oncology to join our well established team.

In BC we have some of the best cancer control results in the country, with access to more state-of-the-art drug therapies than any other province. Our provincial structure is the key to our success and ample opportunity exists for collaboration across and within our tumour groups. You will report to the Head of Medical Oncology, BC Cancer-CSI for issues related to patient care, research, teaching and standards of care.

The Penticton Region boasts spectacular beauty and agricultural abundance, with a variety of recreational options, offering the opportunity to ski, play a round of golf, horseback ride and visit a winery all in one day. Surrounded by majestic mountains and refreshing waters, every season holds promise, with activities such as hiking, biking and boating in summer, to skiing, boarding and snowmobiling in winter. The 2,000 hours of sunshine each year will help you enjoy the Southern Interior even more.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia and have Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment. You must also be suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia. No previous experience in medical oncology is required, the department will support the successful applicant in developing the requisite expertise for the role.

Successful candidates will have:

Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Join one of BC’s largest employers with province-wide programs, services and operations – offering vast opportunities for growth, development, and recognition programs that honour the commitment and contribution of all employees.
Access to professional development opportunities through our in-house training programs, including +2,000 courses, such as our San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training course, or Core Linx for Leadership roles.
Salaried Physicians enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including municipal pension plan, and psychological health & safety programs and holistic wellness resources.
