Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Physician Lead - Edmonton Corridor (EC) Ambulatory Optimization.
This 0.15 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Associate Corridor Medical Lead (ACML), Child Health Hospital Expansion, Ambulatory, and Department: Child Health and Hospital Medical Director, Stollery Children's Hospital (STO). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Physician Lead – Edmonton Corridor (EC) Ambulatory Optimization provides clinical leadership to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accessibility of subspecialty ambulatory care across the Edmonton Corridor. The role supports the implementation of AHS subspecialty ambulatory optimization initiatives and the EC ambulatory care service plan, with a focus on ensuring patients can access the right specialty services in the most appropriate way.
This position works closely with specialty programs, primary care, and operational partners to streamline care pathways, strengthen transitions between primary and specialty care, and reduce avoidable emergency visits and hospital admissions. By advancing high‑quality ambulatory care, the Physician Lead helps support better patient outcomes and a more sustainable health system.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety working as a part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
