The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (The Royal) is one of Canada’s foremost mental health care, teaching, and research hospitals. As a specialized academic health sciences centre, The Royal is committed to helping people living with mental illness and addiction into recovery faster. With over 500 beds and 19,000 outpatients served annually, The Royal delivers innovative, evidence-informed care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings including forensic psychiatry, geriatric mental health, operational stress injuries, schizophrenia, mood disorders and substance use disorders. Our campuses span Ottawa and Brockville, with strong partnerships across the region and province.
The Royal Ottawa, is seeking seeking a qualified psychiatrist with exemplary credentials, and a demonstrated proficiency in working collegially and respectfully within medical and multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time academic appointment at the University of Ottawa at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Effective start date is September 2026 or shortly thereafter.
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, must be Board certified or Board Eligible in Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Specialty, and must be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful candidate must have extensive clinical leadership experience and demonstrated commitment to equity-oriented, community-partnered models of care.
