Family, Child and Youth Opportunity in Mental Health in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada
Job Opportunity
Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, located in Penetanguishene, Ontario is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, Pediatrician or Family Physician with a focused practice in Mental Health to join our dynamic team of health professionals. This program provides community-based mental health care on a consultative basis for the full spectrum of mental health conditions to children and youths 17 years of age or younger.
The consultative service typically consists of one or two visits by a physician and potential follow-up with a clinician from the clinical team using trauma-informed care approaches. The team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers and support staff who collaborate with community-based mental health agencies, regional hospitals and primary care providers to assist children, youths and their caregivers in need of mental health care. For more complex cases, the team may offer a shared care model with the child or youth’s primary health care team.

About the Area
Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is located in Penetanguishene, Ontario on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, less than two hours from Toronto and approximately 45 minutes from Barrie. Outdoor recreational opportunities in all four seasons abound in this area of natural beauty. Golfing, curling, fishing, boating, hiking, snowmobiling are just a few of the great activities to do here. Position Qualifications
We are accepting expressions of interest by candidates who:
hold an MD or equivalent and certification (or eligibility for certification) in Psychiatry or Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada;
are licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario; or are US-trained and US board certified or Board-Eligible
Robust experience in Child & Adolescent Mental Health
Preference will be given to a candidate who is interested in contributing to our academic culture and who thrives as part of a collaborative team.
