Job Description

Recovery Alberta is inviting applications for a General Psychiatrist Visting Specialist to join the North Zone and offer periodic in-person Psychiatry – Mental Health services, to patients in and surrounding the community of Redwater, Alberta. This position will offer services in General Psychiatry, with a focus on offering Brain Injury services.

This position will require the selected candidate to sign a Visiting Specialist contract rendering their services 12 times per year (2-3 days per visit), not exceeding 30 days in a calendar year.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the services
    mentioned.
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
    Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

  • Hold an Alberta Practice Permit to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application).
  • Hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC).
  • Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as Most Responsible Physician.
