If you're looking for a place to practice rural medicine, this is it!  Red Lake is a remote town of ~4000 at the end of the highway in NW Ontario, famous primarily for gold and fishing.  The scenery is beautiful and the commute is just right. The position would be a mix of clinic, ER, and in-patient responsibilities.  Our hospital is smallish with only 18 beds, but we have lab, x-ray/ultrasound, physio, chemotherapy and endoscopy (2 days/mo) services, as well as OTN.  

• ED shifts are 24hrs from 8am, with an average ED volume of 15-20.  There are excellent supports in place.   
• There is a Nurse Practitioner during the day to help with lower acuity patients
• There is always another physician in town to call in for back up
• Access to virtual Critical Care Services 24/7 through remote video consultations to help with management of critically ill patients without requiring a transfer to a tertiary centre
