LOCUMS NEEDED!
Dryden Regional Health Centre (DRHC) is looking for General Surgery locums from September 2026 onward. Flexible multi-day to multi-week assignments are available - let us know you're availability and we're happy to work with you!
Looking for a full-time career in General Surgery? We are also recruiting for a full-time permanent position. Signing bonus and reimbursement for relocation expenses are available.
Compensation:
Remuneration as per Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP) - Urgent Locum Rates:
On-call rate: $1,773.75 per 24hr
Clinical rate (clinic, slates): from $713.51 (3-5hrs) to $2,140.53 (9-12hrs)
Daily honorarium of $386.44 for every working and travel day + travel stipend up to $1,773.75 (9-12hrs of travel)
Reimbursement for all accommodations and travel expenses (mileage, car rental, flights, etc.).
FREE parking on site. Locums also have free access to the Dryden Recreation Complex (fitness centre and pool) during their visit.
Hospital Facility:
DRHC has two modern OR theatres with one fully integrated MIS suite, supported by a 24/7 Diagnostics Department featuring CT and digital X-ray, ultrasound, on-site lab services, and a 24/7/365 ER Department. Regional pathology services are located nearby in Kenora. We are closely located to two tertiary referral centres (Thunder Bay and Winnipeg) via ORNG Air Ambulance service.
Two local GP/Anesthetists provide excellent support to the Surgical Services Programs at the DRHC and one local GP (with +OSS) provides C-section coverage.
Surgical Services:
Common procedures for our General Surgeons include GI, bowel re-section, hernias, skin, and soft tissue surgery. GI endoscopy is an essential service and advanced skills in minimal access surgery are welcome.

Required Qualifications:
- Independent CPSO license or Provisional CPSO license with independent practice conditions
- RCPSC certification or exam eligibility
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
