Brightshores Health System

Brightshores Health System (Brightshores) operates six hospitals in the region serving a population of approximately 170,000. Our vision is to offer quality health care close to home.

Our hospital in Wiarton houses a range of in-patient and emergency services and is located 25 minutes North of our Level 2 regional referral centre in Owen Sound.  Our supporting Owen Sound site offers a full range of specialty services including complex surgeries, total joint replacements, cancer surgeries, MRI and CT scans. 

Team

Supported by a dedicated team of family physicians, we plan to strengthen support

for our Emergency Department with additional Full-Time and Part-Time Emergency Medicine Physicians in both a permanent and locum capacity.

Local back-up physician scheduled daily. 

Service Delivery

Shifts are 12 hours (8a-8p/8p-8a) or full 24-hours if preferred.   

Lab, imaging on-site, with 18 inpatient + 6 CCC beds locally.   

We have excellent specialty back-up at our Level 2 regional referral centre in Owen Sound and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications

Interested candidates should be CCFP or CCFP (EM) designated.

Independent license to practice in Ontario.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate (Alternate Funding Agreement) plus percentage of shadow billings.
