Canadian Physician Opportunities

Remuneration is through a Clinical Alternative Relationship Plan (ARP) and is in alignment/competitive with other Alberta ARP jurisdictions. Alternatively, the physician can choose to be compensated through the fee-for-service (FFS) payment method.

Remuneration is in accordance with AHS contractor agreements.

Fee for Service Through the Outreach and Travelling Physician Support Policy Visiting Specialists are eligible for monetary supports: The outreach financial incentive, at a minimum, requires one way travel greater than 50kms, and pays at $1/kms up to a maximum 500kms one way. Zonal Medical Affairs will calculate payments using a round-trip amount on a monthly basis. For approved outreach service requests AHS will remunerate mileage/car rentals/taxis, meals, flights and accommodation in keeping with the AHS Travel Policy.

Clinical Service Contract

55-hour week: $15,531 weekly (APP $12,636 + FPE 25.62% $3,168); ED shifts receive additional on-call compensation through MOCAP and REEF; After Hours Premiums (AHP) available (enhanced by Rural Retention Program Fee-Premium-Equivalent 25.62%); travel expenses covered (round-trip flights and meal per diems); housing provided at no cost.

Estimated $250,000–$500,000 annually; FFS or LFP billing (combination); based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation: clinical services will be compensated through fee-for-service billings. For non-billable work, CCA will provide compensation in line with CCA guidelines.
