Come to Elliot Lake for a 12-month Part-Time Emergency Room Contract for 1-3 days/week

St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake is recruiting an Emergency Room Physician to work 1-3 days a week, leaving lots of time to enjoy our beautiful community. St. Joseph’s is a 55-bed acute care hospital, with 6 bed ICU, OBS, OR, midwifery service, Visiting Specialists’ Clinics of ENT, Ophthalmology,  Cardiology, pediatrics and psychiatry. Our ED is solo coverage working alongside 4 nurses and a Nurse Practitioner. Patients are varied in acuity and complexity with a greater emphasis on seniors. We average 13,000 ED visits a year. We have an integrated healthcare facility utilizing a common electronic health record with 22 other hospitals in the North East. St. Joseph's General Hospital recently added a CT scan to better accommodate our patients.   Sounds too good to be true? The only thing missing is you! 

The Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Physician to contribute to our excellent service delivery in the Emergency Department. Successful candidates will be CCFP-EM, ABEM, or FRCPC certified and must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.  Family Physicians with emergency medicine experience will also be considered. The ability to work independently and perform many procedures including simple and complex sutures, fracture reductions etc.  There exists a supportive environment of physicians, nurses and a Nurse Practitioner.

Total Compensation Incudes:

Up to $260,000/year ($22,000/month for 3 shifts weekly)

Very attractive alternative billing and shadow billing plan
