Job Description
The Department of Anaesthesia at Oak Valley Health (Markham Stouffville Hospital) is currently recruiting for a full-time Anaesthesiologist. The Department is made up of an interdisciplinary team, including 12 anaesthesiologists, who deliver safe, high quality, patient-centered care. This group services eight operating rooms with 10,000 procedures per year, comprising ambulatory care and a wide range of subspecialty surgeries – General, Orthopedics, Spine, Gynaecology, Plastics, Otolaryngology, Urology, Oral Maxillofacial and Dental surgeries. The department also supports the obstetrics program and the Alongside Midwifery Unit (AMU). Outside of the operating room, members provide anaesthetic care for procedures such as endoscopy and pediatric endoscopy in partnership with The Hospital for Sick Children. There is also an active Acute Pain Service, which includes an Advanced Practice Nurse, to support safe and effective pain control in the hospital and during the transition back into the community. Department members are dedicated to life-long learning and are enthusiastic teachers and mentors to medial students, residents, and allied health professionals. Many staff hold appointments with University of Toronto.
Qualifications/Experience:
● License to practice Anaesthesiology independently in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
● Anesthesiology certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
