EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN
Terms Of Employment: FULL-TIME and PART-TIME
Location: 7199 Gelert Rd, Haliburton, ON Canada
Why Apply
Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) is growing health care services in the heart of cottage country and has a unique career opportunity with a welcoming and supportive community for an Emergency Department (ED) Physician and their family. The lakes and forests that inspire art, incredible outdoor adventures and peaceful living are only the fringe benefits. Rural healthcare offers physicians new experiences that challenge and bring unexpected personal and career growth.
Role
HHHS requires full-time and part-time Emergency Department Physicians to work in the Haliburton ED. Full-time consists of 12 ED shifts per month where shifts range from 8 to 12-hour days and 14-hour nights. HHHS ED is operational 24/7 and averages 15,000 visits per year of all age groups and variable acuity. Depending on seasonal needs, coverage is comprised of three shifts (day, evening/night, and second day shift) currently staffed by local physicians and locums. Relocation funding may be available for full-time physicians moving to the County.
Hospital and Community Healthcare Supports
The ED is supported by Haliburton County Paramedic Services and an onsite helipad is maintained for Ornge air ambulance and medical transport service. HHHS is very proud to report that an onsite CT scanner is available 24/7 for emergency care. The ED is supported by regional hospitals for referral and interventional radiology services, and has an impressive portfolio of local hospital services and community programs including Primary care, Inpatient care, Long-term Care, End-of-Life care, Mental Health and Addictions care, and an array of Community Support Services such as Geriatric Assessment and Intervention Network (GAIN), Palliative Care Community Team (PCCT), Assisted Living Services for High-Risk Seniors and Physiotherapy all focused on supporting care.
