Job Description

Cardiac Surgical Assistant Opportunity

Southlake Health is seeking a Cardiac Surgical Assistant to support a high-performing team of 5 Cardiac Surgeons, working 2–3 days per week. You will join a collaborative group that includes both physicians and Registered Nurse First Assistants (RNFAs).

Position Highlights:

  • Assist with elective and on-call cardiac surgeries
  • Provide inpatient surgical coverage
  • Work in a dynamic, high-volume Regional Cardiac Centre
  • Approx. 1,000 open heart surgeries performed annually
  • Remuneration through fee-for-service (OHIP) plus Ministry of Health on-call funding

Qualifications:

  • Royal College certified
  • Hold or be eligible for Independent Practice licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Candidates from a variety of training backgrounds are welcome to apply
