POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital/ University of Ottawa is inviting applications for a permanent position in the Division of Neurosurgery. We seek one full-time Neurosurgeon with at least one year of postgraduate fellowship training in each of Open Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery.
The successful candidate should be competent and comfortable in the full scope of cranial and spinal neurosurgery; however, the position will have a substantive clinical focus on cerebrovascular neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology (INR).
The surgeon will also participate in the general neurosurgery call schedule and is expected to contribute to education, research, multidisciplinary vascular conferences, and quality-improvement initiatives within the program.
REQUIREMENTS
· The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
· The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
· The candidate must have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
· Demonstrated excellence in knowledge, technical skills, judgment, professionalism, and ethical standards, supported by strong reference letters.
· Dual-trained vascular neurosurgeon with fellowship training in open cerebrovascular surgery and endovascular neurosurgery.
· Proficiency in both English and French is an asset.
Terms of Employment
The income for this position is derived from a variety of sources including but not limited to clinical billings (fee-for-service). Full-time surgeons are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, disability insurance, and life insurance.
Remuneration Details
Salary range: $600,000 - $800, 000 annually

The Ottawa cerebrovascular and endovascular program is a rapidly expanding, high-acuity service that provides comprehensive care for patients across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. The program includes:
• A high-volume stroke and neurovascular referral service
• A modern biplane angiography suite with capability for advanced endovascular therapies
• Multidisciplinary collaboration with Neurology, Interventional Neuroradiology, and Critical Care
• Integration within regional stroke networks and clinical research programs
