Job Description
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging provides leadership to the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and serves as the liaison between members of the Department and senior hospital leadership. The Chief is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care, as well as the daily administration of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging.
As Chief, the successful candidate is responsible for providing organizational leadership on issues related to Diagnostic Imaging and for ensuring effective and efficient program operations in alignment with the hospital’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values.
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is in a period of growth, supported by significant investments in infrastructure, technology and patient care. These investments include a new MRI launched in June 2024 and an upgrade in progress to general radiography areas with further initiatives focused on strengthening capacity, enhancing quality and improving the patient experience. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished physician leader to help guide the Department through its next chapter.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in clinical practice, professional development and quality improvement. Recognized by peers as an expert clinician, an effective leader and mentor, a champion of quality, contemporary practice and program performance, the successful candidate is an experienced physician with a reputation for their ability to work within an interdisciplinary team delivering compassionate, patient focused care.
The successful candidate will join a team of radiologists and will perform core services including general radiography, ultrasound, breast imaging, CT, MRI and limited nonvascular interventional radiology. In addition, they will provide equitable on-call services with other local radiologists, which may be supplemented by teleradiology services.

- Delegating responsibility to appropriate members of the Department;
- Developing, planning, and managing the medical human resources of the Department in alignment with the Hospital’s clinical services plans, and quality and clinical resource management initiatives;
- Works in close collaboration in a dyad leadership arrangement with non-physician leaders to develop, establish, monitor, manage, and enhance department performance in respect of clinical services targets, quality indicators, and resource utilization targets;
Remuneration
The stipend for this position is $31,600 per annum. Payments will be made on a monthly basis.
