ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Central Zone is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant to join the Pediatrics Program at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, NL.
The successful candidate will work primarily within the outpatient Pediatric Clinic and will be accountable to the Pediatrician in clinic, the on-call Pediatrician, and the Site Lead/Clinical Chief of Pediatrics. Responsibilities include managing patients with a diagnosis of ADHD requiring follow-up, reviewing well babies during hospital stay after birth and prior to discharge, completing physical examinations, and attending routine C-sections to provide initial NRP resuscitation as required. After-hours, weekend, and statutory holiday on-call coverage may be required.
Central Zone is the second largest health zone in NL Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities. The region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west — encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island of Newfoundland.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy privileging and credentialing requirements of NL Health Services Central Zone
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work primarily within the outpatient Pediatric Clinic under the supervision of the Pediatrician
- Manage patients with a diagnosis of ADHD requiring follow-up care
- Review maternal charts and complete physical examinations for well babies prior to discharge
- Attend routine C-sections to provide initial NRP resuscitation as required
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and statutory holiday on-call coverage as assigned
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety

REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. The successful candidate will have access to paid leave, medical and dental insurance, and pension contributions.
Available Incentives:
- Physician Signing Bonus — CAD 150,000
- Come Home Incentive — CAD 50,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
