Job Description
Join a dynamic team of ophthalmologists at North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) as a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist in the beautiful community of North Bay, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collegial, patient-focused environment while enjoying exceptional work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cataract surgery with dedicated surgical time, including 1-2 operating days per week at NBRHC
- Participate in minor procedure ORs at the hospital
- Practice in a state-of-the-art medical clinic opened in 2025, featuring 6 ophthalmic lanes and a comprehensive clinical support team
- Embrace a team-based approach to patient care in a collaborative environment
- Provide 1 in 4 call coverage for the community and the surrounding area

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ophthalmology certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with a strong interest in comprehensive care and a variety of subspecialities
- Licensure with CPSO to practice ophthalmology independently in Ontario
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, patient centered team
- A passion for providing high-quality care with a focus on improving patient outcomes
Remuneration:
This position will be remunerated with a combination of OHIP billings, Northern Specialist APP & Hospital On-Call stipends.
Our organization has a competitive Incentive Package which includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with moving expenses and up to
$94,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI).
