Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Newborn Health - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Hospital Medical Director, RAH and the Corridor Clinical Section Lead (CCSL), Newborn Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Newborn Health - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) provides essential medical leadership to coordinate clinical care, oversee Quality Assurance, and liaise with site Child Health, Obstetrics, and Edmonton Corridor Newborn Health programs and medical leaders. The role also ensures safe patient flow (transport) between sites.
This position is central to maternal and fetal health collaboration, operational oversight, and coordination of physician staff, clinical assistants, and nurse practitioners. Strong leadership is required to foster effective teamwork and seamless integration with RAH Child Health and Obstetrics.
The CCDHL is vital to delivering specialized newborn care across Northern Alberta, with RAH serving as a hub that supports neonatal sites throughout the province.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety working as a part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
