Job Description

Position Description:

The Alberta Children's Hospital has an opportunity for a pediatrician to join the Sensory Clinic.  Primary role will be in the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic. This is a well-established, multidisciplinary, outpatient surgical clinic, located in the Sensory Clinic at the Alberta Children's Hospital.  The pediatrician provides comprehensive pediatric consultations including assessment and investigation specific to cleft lip and palate. The pediatrician works closely with the other team physicians and allied health professionals to formulate comprehensive treatment plans. The clinical role may also include hospital consultations, support for clinic patients requiring inpatient care, and availability for telephone consultations.

Remuneration is Fee for Service.

Previous training/experience in cleft lip and palate is preferred. Education and mentoring will be provided by the current clinic pediatricians. The successful applicant should be comfortable working with neonates, infants and children with complex medical and developmental needs. Experience with feeding and nutrition in infants is an asset. A secondary role would be to support the Vascular Anomalies Clinic, which would involve diagnosis and management of infantile hemangiomas and other vascular tumors and malformations.  Previous training/ experience in vascular anomalies is preferred but not required.  Additional training and education would be arranged to gain required experience before working in the Vascular Anomalies Clinic.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team within the Alberta Children’s Hospital to provide care for a unique population of patients.

We’re passionate about what we do. Our team of skilled and dedicated health care professionals, support staff, and physicians promote wellness and provide health care every day, all across the Calgary Corridor.  We are an equal opportunity employer.
