Job Description

The Queen’s Department of Family Medicine is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic locums to cover for year-round faculty to provide in-patient clinical coverage at the Division of Hospital Medicine based at Providence Care Hospital in beautiful and historic Kingston, Ontario. Locum opportunities include 0.5 to 1.0 FTE roles.

The Division of Hospital Medicine is a dynamic group of physicians committed to delivering quality care to patients admitted in complex medical, rehabilitation, and mental health programs of Providence Care Hospital, a sub-acute care hospital and Southeastern Ontario’s leading provider of specialized care in aging, mental health, and rehabilitation.

Offering a competitive remuneration package, clinical coverage hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with no responsibilities after hours, on weekends, or stat holidays.

The successful applicant must be licensed to practise in Ontario on or before the appointment start day, with preference given to candidates who have valid certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

As we are an academic division, responsibilities may include both patient care and resident supervision.

Applicants are asked to submit the following:

1. A current curriculum vitae.

2. The names and contact information for three referees.

3. A letter of good standing from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO);and

4. Proof of membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
