Job Description

EMERGENCY MEDICINE MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking aspiring emergency medicine physicians for locum positions at all Lakeridge Health sites as part of our LHEDE program. This 4-month enrichment experience includes didactic lectures, supervised ER shifts and simulation sessions designed to improve the ED skills of family medicine graduates and allow them to practice to their full scope in an emergency setting.

Our 4 EDs are highly efficient and well supported by a multidisciplinary team including collaborative, experienced emergency nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, geriatric emergency medicine nurses and crisis workers. Lakeridge Health offers a variety of services at its various, high-acuity hospitals, supported by a multitude of medical and surgical specialties, including psychiatry (2 schedule 1 facilities), interventional radiology, thoracic surgery, and stroke support (stroke center) as well as most medical subspecialties and a regional cancer center.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to join a collegial and supportive ED team in one of the fastest growing community hospital settings. Physicians must be licensed to practice in Ontario and hold CCFP certification. Other international credentials will be considered.

About Lakeridge Health
