Job Description

St. Francis Memorial Hospital is a 20 bed rural facility noted for its progressive programs and friendly work environment with a dedication to providing Excellence in Rural Healthcare. SFMH is also a fully accredited hospital offering both medical and complex continuing in-patient care, emergency care and a full range of diagnostic and clinical services. Located 1 hour from Renfrew and Pembroke, 30 minutes from Algonquin Park and 2 hours from Ottawa, the area offers exceptional natural beauty with year round recreational activities such as mountain biking, ATV’s, snowmobiling, water sports, hiking and camping, while maintaining easy access to urban centres. The Madawaska Valley is also known for its talented Arts community and warm hospitality.

What We Offer:

As part of the Atlas Alliance of hospitals, SFMH has been recognized for effectively and efficiently using technology in patient care by achieving Stage 6 EMRAM certification, putting our adoption and utilization of EMR functions in the top 2 percent of hospitals in Canada. Our electronic medical record is EPIC and full training is provided.

About Our Emerg:

Visits to the Emerg are 11,000 per year with the average Trialge level of patients seen is a 3.

Extras Provided:

Shadow billing by hospital staff. Dedicated sleepover suite for physician is provided with availability of additional sleepover rooms for before or after your shift. Lunch and Supper meal provided by onsite Dietary department. Free Parking. The support of a longstanding and experienced team and grateful community.

For those who would like more experience working in ED, we offer an ED Mentorship Program funded by the Ministry of Health.

For those interested in full-time (28 hours per week or 1456 hours per year) ED Practice we offer up to $72,000 in incentives through the Ministry of Health ED Recruitment Program.

Those interested in establishing a family practice may be eligible for NRRR (The Northern and Rural Recruitment & Retention) Funding of up to approximately $120,000 over 4-years.
