FAMILY PHYSICIANS WANTED FOR NEW GRAVENHURST HEALTH HUB
The Town of Gravenhurst is nestled among lakes and rivers of world-class calibre, majestic stands of pine and maples, and exposed bedrock that is well more than a billion years old. It’s no wonder the broader Muskoka region stands out as Ontario’s premier cottage country location and was selected as National Geographic’s No. 1 out-of-the-ordinary summer vacation destination. We all know a picture is worth a thousand words, so we invite you to experience the much-sought-after Muskoka lifestyle by visiting our community.
Something exciting is happening with the development of the Gravenhurst Health Hub is the summer of 2026.

The grassroots community collaboration between the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst and the local Family Health Team has met its first milestone. The Board of both the Rotary Club and Cottage Country Family Health Team has approved moving to tender for the first ohase of renovations to the vacant top floor (12,000 sq. ft) at 5 Pineridge Gate, above the current medical clinic operated by the Cottage Country Family Health Team physicians.
Culture and fit are important considerations here. We are looking for collegial, visionary doctors who exude positive energy; who see solutions instead of problems; and who want to push beyond the status quo and aspire to continuously improve patient care excellence pertaining to health promotion, disease prevention, and acute and chronic condition management.
As an HFO-designated underserviced community, new physicians are eligible for an NRRR (Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention) grant of $83,280 paid over four years—the first 40 per cent of which in the first year of practice (click here for more information on the NRRR program). Thereafter, you’ll qualify for additional northern physician retention grants, plus monthly rural stipends (all in addition to your regular billing). Here’s a list of some other compelling features that characterize our practice environment:
*Muskoka’s demographic is characterized by a large and rapidly growing population of seniors and retirees. You can immediately benefit from a full roster of patients by taking over an established practice. If you prefer, you can build your own practice and likely roster a few thousand patients from day one.
*You have the flexibility of choosing your commitment—full-time, part-time or locum. Regardless of your choice, you’ll be welcomed as a valued member of a highly collaborative and engaged team of professionals. We also offer supervision for qualified international physicians and welcome interest from our colleagues abroad.
*You’ll avoid the hassle of setting up an office from scratch by walking into a contemporary, turn-key facility with modern infrastructure that includes new computers and diagnostic equipment as well as dedicated office space with separate exam rooms. You’ll also immediately benefit from on-site pharmaceutical and rehabilitative support in addition to multiple FHT programs.
*You’ll be supported by a highly competent and well-trained operations team from the get-go. You’ll also have the option of personal nursing support.
*Fee-for-service hospital opportunities (including emergency services, palliative care, etc.) are within easy walking distance to our clinic.
*You can access research and development funding from the south Muskoka local education group with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
Does this exclusive opportunity as a full-time, part-time or locum practitioner in Ontario’s most celebrated natural setting align with your lifestyle and professional interests? If so, we invite you to schedule some time to meet with us and tour the facility and the community.
Due to our location known as "The Gateway to Muskoka," physicians have the opportunity to treat and manage a wide array of medical conditions and pathologies, and ensure their clinical expertise remains optimal.
