Family Physician – New Grad Friendly Primary Care Opportunity - Full-Time / Part-Time / Locum / Temporary Options Available
Rexdale Community Health Centre (RCHC) is seeking Family Physicians to join our Primary Care team. This opportunity is especially well-suited for new graduates and early-career physicians who are looking for a supportive, team-based environment to begin or grow their family medicine practice.
RCHC is a multi-service, community-based health centre providing primary health care, health promotion, community support services, and community development programs to diverse communities in Rexdale and North-West Etobicoke. We serve individuals and families across the lifespan and are committed to equity-driven, culturally safe, comprehensive care.

What Your First Week Looks Like
We understand that starting practice can feel like a big transition. At RCHC, new physicians are supported through a structured onboarding process, including:
- Shadowing and orientation with the team
- Introduction to clinic workflows and interprofessional supports
- EMR training and support
- Review of key policies, documentation expectations, and CHC model of care
- Gradual familiarization with referral pathways, programs, and community resources
About the Role
Family Physicians at RCHC provide comprehensive primary care to individuals and families, taking into account medical, psychological, social, economic, and environmental factors impacting health. Physicians work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to support prevention, screening, chronic disease management, care coordination, and health promotion.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive primary care, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and preventive care
- Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to support complex client needs
- Participating in care planning, case conferencing, chart reviews, and quality improvement activities
- Supporting health education, prevention, and screening programs based on community needs
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical records in the EMR
- Participating in clinic/program planning and identifying opportunities to improve services and workflows
- Supporting medical learners/trainees, where applicable and based on interest
- Providing care in clinic, community partner, and/or mobile outreach settings as required
Current Opportunities
RCHC has multiple physician opportunities available and is open to discussing arrangements that fit your availability and practice goals.
We have an immediate need for 9-month maternity leave coverage, with flexible full-time or part-time hours available. This is a great opportunity to experience the CHC model in a supportive, team-based environment without an initial long-term commitment.
Permanent full-time, part-time, and locum opportunities may also be available.
Qualifications
- Medical degree and Family Medicine residency from a recognized university
- Current or eligible registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- CCFP designation/membership or eligibility
- CMPA coverage
- Commitment to equity-driven, culturally safe, community-based care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interprofessional team environment
- Knowledge of the Rexdale/North-West Etobicoke community is an asset
- Additional language skills are considered an asset, including French, Spanish, and/or Arabic

RCHC operates across North Etobicoke, including sites at:
- 8 Taber Road
- 222 Dixon Road
- 21 Panorama Court
There may also be opportunities to provide care through local outreach and our Wheels to Wellness mobile health bus.
Compensation & Scheduling
- $182.40/hour, equivalent to approximately $331,975 annually for full-time hours
- HOOPP pension and generous health/dental/vacation package for eligible roles/FTE
- Flexible scheduling options available
- RCHC is open until 8:00pm each evening through compressed workweek scheduling
- Optional weekend shifts may be available by mutual agreement
- Full-time: 35 hours/week
- Part-time, locum, and temporary arrangements are flexible and negotiable
