Position Description:
The Family Physician provides comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, conducting health assessments, promoting disease prevention and wellness, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and coordinating patient care with specialists and other healthcare providers. The physician works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.

Job Duties:
Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients of all ages.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Conduct health assessments, routine examinations, and preventive care services.
Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Refer patients to specialists and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Participate in on-call coverage and after-hours services as required.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Support quality improvement, patient safety, and community health initiatives.
Comply with the policies, procedures, and standards of Horizon Health Network and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB).
Hours of Work:
Flexible full-time practice. Hours are determined by the physician in accordance with patient care requirements, clinic operations, and call obligations.
Remuneration:
Flexible
Competitive compensation based on the applicable physician compensation model (Fee-for-Service, Salary) with recruitment incentives, relocation assistance, and other benefits may be available subject to eligibility and approval.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MD); eligible for CPSNB licensure; CCFP certification or equivalent; strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to provide comprehensive family medicine services in a collaborative healthcare environment.

As soon as possible
Incentives:
$100,000.00 accompanied by a 4 year return of service.
Relocation reimbursement available.

Eligible for CPSNB licensure; strong communication and teamwork skills; commitment to patient-centered care; ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment; participation in call coverage as required; eligible to work in Canada.
About the Facility:
Situated west-centrally in New Brunswick, the Upper River Valley area, including the Town of Woodstock, Hartland, Floranceville, Perth Andover and Plaster Rock. Horizon’s Upper River Valley area serves a catchment population of 45,000. Many sites in this region are situated along the majestic St. John River valley and all sites are within driving distance of the province’s historic capital, Fredericton.
The hospital provides services to the Town of Woodstock, Town of Hartland several villages and other surrounding communities. The community’s economy is mainly based on natural resources and farming industries. The area has a diverse population distribution that is 60% rural and 40% urban.
The Upper River Valley Hospital is the newest hospital in New Brunswick. It has been designated as the first full-service hospital in Canada to be recognized as a leader in energy and environmental design.
