Anyone looking to join a FHO in the Ottawa area? 32-minute east-bound drive from central Ottawa to the clinic (I know because I worked there for 4 years until my retirement in November), with free parking beside the back door. The clinic is right by the 417 in Casselman, so an easy drive regardless of the weather. It's a six-doctor FHO; one member is planning to retire. 4-5 half-days a week would suffice to look after the retiring doctor's roster. And of course there's always the option to take on more patients. The patients are a mix of city and country folk. Full management services - billing, bookkeeping, personnel management, etc. - are provided, which means that all you do is practice medicine (and the manager respects the doctors' input and works very closely with them!). EMR is PS Suite. The clinic has a nurse, reception staff, a lab technician and a manager, and there is a pharmacy in the same building. Oh, and the overhead rate is very competitive. Combine all this with friendly and supportive colleagues, and what more could you want?
